Madison County Warrant Records Madison County Warrant Records

If you think a Madison County traffic warrant is out for you, start with the court named on your ticket. Traffic cases here land in one of two justice of the peace courts, Precinct 1 or 2, or in a city municipal court when the citation came from city police. Call the clerk of that court, ask what the record shows, and learn which step applies before you send any payment or form. A city ticket follows the city court's own route. The Precinct 1 JP court tells people to hold off on paying while a request is pending, since the judge must rule first. Texas DPS handles a separate failure-to-appear or failure-to-pay problem that blocks license renewal, so a Madison County warrant may not be your only headache.

Madison County Traffic Warrants Explained

A missed court date and an unpaid fine are different events. In fine-only cases, Chapter 45A sets notice and process rules, including rules for capias pro fine after judgment. Madison County’s official sources do not publish a warrant count or a public traffic-warrant list.

County citations go to the JP precinct named on the paper. Madisonville, Midway, and Normangee handle their own municipal citations. Use the issuing court’s current instructions; a citation balance or payment page is not proof that a warrant has been recalled.

Madison County JP Traffic Process

JP Precincts 1 and 2 share a courthouse suite, phone, fax, and email. The court asks that an email subject include the citation or case number and the name or precinct. Forms may be sent as PDFs by email, mailed, or delivered in person. Mailed or emailed traffic requests need an ID copy, and only the defendant may submit them.

The county does not publish a JP warrant lookup or a direct warrant line. Call the JP office at 936-348-5151 or write to jp@madisoncountytx.org to ask about the citation and current court procedure.

Checking for a Traffic Warrant

There is no official countywide traffic-warrant search form. Start with the citation and the court named on it. Use the case number and precinct or city to route a private status question; do not post identifying details publicly.

  1. For a county ticket, use the JP precinct printed on the citation and ask whether an FTA, judgment, or capias pro fine appears.
  2. For a Madisonville citation, use the city court page and call the municipal court. Its page displays a ticket-payment widget, not a verified warrant list.
  3. For a Midway ticket, call City Hall or the municipal-court route; no public warrant portal or detailed payment form was located.
  4. For a Normangee ticket, use its current municipal court page and ask about the Citation Reply Form and any required appearance.
  5. For a DPS renewal hold, use DPS FTA/FTP instructions, identify each reporting court, then contact those courts separately.

Madison County Traffic Forms and Payment

The JP page links different requests for a plea with payment, trial hearing, 30-day extension, Driver Safety Course, payment plan, community service, and deferred disposition. These are not interchangeable. Some require court approval and supporting information, so use the form for the option you are asking the court to consider.

Inside a Traffic Warrant Record

Madison County has no published traffic-warrant record layout or local number format. A court file may connect the citation, offense, precinct or city court, plea, court date, judgment, warrant issue or return, and later action. Ask the clerk to explain the field and status in that court’s record.

Madison County Traffic Payment Does Not Prove Recall

The JP accepts money order or cashier’s check by mail or in person, and credit or debit payment through its linked GovRec service. GovRec is a payment route, not a warrant search. The court specifically warns not to pay online before a request is approved or denied when the instructions require a decision first.

Keep the receipt and ask the issuing court whether the judgment was satisfied, whether process was recalled, and whether a DPS report was updated. No countywide traffic-warrant fee or clearance amount was verified.

Use the official-linked GovRec page only for a JP payment the court has authorized.

How to Pay or Lift a Traffic Warrant

Do not begin with a payment button. Confirm the court, ask whether process exists, and find out which disposition the court will accept. A payment may satisfy a judgment without automatically proving that a capias was recalled or a state report changed.

  1. Identify the issuing JP precinct or municipal court from the citation.
  2. Ask whether the matter is an FTA, unpaid judgment, warrant, or capias pro fine.
  3. Submit the court-approved form or arrange the required appearance before paying when the court says to wait.
  4. Use only the payment channel linked by that court and keep its receipt.
  5. Ask for confirmation of recall or satisfaction and ask whether a DPS notice remains.

Warning: The JP page says not to pay before a request is approved or denied when that instruction applies. A payment receipt alone does not confirm recall.

Madison County Traffic and City Citation Split

A county JP citation and a Madisonville, Midway, or Normangee municipal citation belong to different courts. The Madisonville payment widget is not a county JP account. Midway’s official sources did not show a public warrant portal or detailed payment form. Normangee’s current court page offers citation payment and a Citation Reply Form path.

Read the court name before using any payment link. If the city citation asks for a different step, contact that municipal court; do not send a county JP form to a city case.

Traffic Warrants, FTA, and License Holds

A traffic warrant or capias is court process. An FTA is a missed required appearance. A DPS license-renewal hold is an administrative consequence reported by a court. They can relate to one citation, but one does not prove the status of the others.

MechanismWhat Triggers ItWhat It Does
Court processFTA or unsatisfied fine-only judgment, subject to court procedureContact the issuing court about current status.
Failure to appearA required appearance was missedAsk the court what notice and next step apply.
DPS FTA/FTP reportA court reported a matter affecting renewalIdentify each reporting court and resolve the court matter there.

DPS Holds Return to the Reporting Court

Texas DPS directs a person with an FTA/FTP license-renewal problem to identify the reporting court and ask it about the balance, appearance, and disposition options. DPS’s service and OmniBase telephone route at 800-686-0570 do not confirm every warrant or replace the JP or municipal court.

If more than one court reported a hold, contact each one. Ask which action clears the court file and how that court reports the result back to DPS.

See the Texas DPS FTA/FTP instructions and the Chapter 45A text for the state routes.

Madison County traffic warrant reference, Texas Chapter 45A FTA and capias pro fine rules

Chapter 45A includes hardship and recall procedures for fine-only cases, but the court must tell the reader which rule applies.
